The St. James Court Art Scholarships are awarded to students indicating art as their major. Students may expect their award to be paid directly to the University of Louisville over a predetermined period of their full time enrolment at the university, renewed as long as they have fulfilled the conditions of the award.
NOVEMBER
This juried online exhibition opportunity welcomes high school students (grades 9 through 12) residing in the United States to submit up to four works in all media and subject matter.
DECEMBER/JANUARY
Portfolio Competition for Graduating Seniors
A series of 6 distinct works that communicate a single cohesive idea or visual investigation. The works can come from one category or any combination of multiple categories.
Artist Statement: You must submit a written statement that provides insight into the creative processes used to render the cohesive collection of works in your portfolio. Your artist statement must not exceed 500 words. The statement will be viewable by jurors. Do not use self-identifying information in the statement.
Personal Statement: You must tell a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates your character or helped to shape it. Your personal statement must not exceed 500 words. The statement will not be available to view by jurors. It may however, be viewed by the scholarship committee should your portfolio advance to the national round of judging.

Youth Art Month
To promote Youth Art Month, The Council for Art Education coordinates Youth Art Month activities at the national level. The primary event is the State Flag Program. Using the national or state theme, each state coordinates a flag design contest, with the winning design made into a flag for display in the Youth Art Month Museum at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) annual National Convention.

Ivy Tech School of Fine Art: ART JAMArt Jam is an annual art competition for high school students with an interest in the visual arts, currently enrolled at a Southern Indiana or Metro Louisville public or private High School or College Preparatory School. Students who paint, illustrate, sculpt, design, draw, photograph, or just create art, are eligible to enter Ivy Tech Southern Indiana Art Jam Competition. Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are eligible. All student entries must have been created as the result of a real classroom assignment and be an interpretation of the topic specific to the year being entered.

Congressional Art CompetitionThemed competition. Two-Dimensional work only.
Any 9th District resident in grades nine through twelve is invited to participate. The grand prize winner will have their submission displayed in the United States Capitol for one year and they will be invited to participate in a reception for first place winners from across the country. |
NAFCS Secondary Art Show & CompetitionThis is an annual student art show and competition held at the Carnegie Center for Art & History. Student work in grades 5-12 in a variety of categories are juried and exhibited for two weeks culminating in a awards ceremony. Work is chosen at teacher discretion.

NAHS Alumni Senior Purchase AwardsThe NAHS Alumni Association sponsor these annual awards. Seniors may submit original works for consideration. Works selected become part of the New Albany High Schools permanent collection and are displayed within the school building. Awards are presented at Senior Class Night.
